Craving some home cooked comfort food? The Rookery Cafe has you covered with an impressive lunch, dinner and Saturday brunch menu. It’s been selected as the best restaurant by Juneau Empire Readers’ Choice polls for the past two years, and as equal parts coffee shop and restaurant, you can count on the Rookery to keep you energized throughout your visit.

Much of the menu is scratch made, including fresh breads, turkey breasts and sweets. As the only restaurant in Alaska with Stumptown Coffee, connoisseurs flock to the Rookery. Reservations are available, but not required. Brunch can get busy, especially with fried-to-order cinnamon doughnuts, the vodka biscuit breakfast sandwich, and the champagne with three cheese fondue.

A Decadent Treat

Kimchi and bacon fried rice with scrambled eggs and scallions, the Rookery ramen with a poached egg, and sweet tea brined buttermilk half chickens are just part of what’s in store for brunch and lunch diners. Don’t forget the pickle board and artichoke parmesan dip with focaccia for starters.

At dinner, it’s all about the constant changes (sometimes daily!). Sample dishes include chicken corn chowder, vegetable bibimbap, and the massive diner burger with a panhandle provisions patty, zucchini pickles, American cheese, burger sauce, tomato, onion and lettuce on a parker roll. What will you be having?
